RenuSpa iO Troubleshooting and FAQs

Start here

If your RenuSpa iO / WellSpa iO isn't behaving as expected, the cause is almost always one of a few things: the device isn't charged, the skin or device surface isn't making good contact, or the serum being used isn't the intended ageLOC formula. Working through these basics first resolves the majority of issues without needing to contact support.

Device won't turn on or hold a charge

Confirm the device is fully seated on its charging base — depending on your model, this is either a wireless charging cradle or a magnetic charger, and a loose connection is the most common reason a device appears 'dead'. Let it charge fully before your next session rather than topping it up for a few minutes.

If the device still won't power on after a full charge, check that the charging base itself is receiving power, and try a different outlet. Persistent charging issues are usually a hardware fault rather than a usage issue, and are worth raising with support.

Weak or inconsistent sensation during use

Adaptive Microcurrent Technology continuously adjusts to the skin's conductivity in real time as you glide the device over each area — which means the sensation can genuinely vary from area to area and session to session depending on skin hydration and contact. Make sure the area is prepped with the ageLOC body serum or activating gel before gliding the device, since dry skin reduces contact quality.

Also check that both contact points on the device are touching the skin fully and evenly — tilting the device or lifting it partway through a stroke will interrupt the sensation.

Skin feels irritated or the ritual feels uncomfortable

The Relax ritual is designed to deliver a soothing, massage-like sensation, so ongoing discomfort isn't the intended experience. If skin feels irritated, stop use on that area and allow it to settle. If you have an active skin condition, unexplained irritation, recently had a cosmetic treatment, or broken or damaged skin, seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before using the device on that area.

Using too much pressure, going over the same spot repeatedly in one session, or using the device more often than the recommended few times a week can also make the ritual feel less comfortable than intended.

Using the wrong product with the device

RenuSpa iO / WellSpa iO is designed to be used specifically with an ageLOC body serum or activating gel, not a generic lotion or moisturiser. Using an unintended product can affect both the glide and the sensation, and isn't how the ritual is designed to work. If you're not sure which serum or gel pairs with your ritual, our Body Wellness page outlines what's used with Restore, Revitalise and Relax.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my device feel weaker than when I first got it?

Check charge level and skin contact first — a partial charge or dry skin are the most common causes of a weaker-feeling session. If the device is fully charged and the area is properly prepped with serum, and the sensation still seems off, contact support.

Can I use RenuSpa iO / WellSpa iO on broken or damaged skin?

No. If you have broken or damaged skin, an active skin condition, unexplained irritation, or have recently had a cosmetic treatment in the area, seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional before use.

Is it normal for the sensation to differ between arms, abdomen and thighs?

Yes. Because the technology adapts to the skin's conductivity in real time, sensation can vary naturally between areas with different skin thickness and hydration.

How do I know if my device is charging correctly?

Refer to the indicator light behavior described in your device's included instructions, and ensure it's seated correctly on its wireless or magnetic charging base — a light that doesn't activate at all usually points to a base or outlet issue.

What should I do if the issue doesn't resolve?

If you've checked charging, skin contact, product use and comfort and the issue persists, reach out through our enquiry form so we can help troubleshoot further.
